What sets us apart
High-intensity acoustic noise susceptibility testing
Our high-intensity generation system produces sound pressure levels in excess of 170 dB — a capability few test labs can offer, in service since 1962.
Capabilities
Full-service testing under one roof
Environmental simulation, dynamics, and EMI testing with in-house instrumentation, fixture design, and reporting.
Dynamics
Shock, vibration, inclination, acceleration, and pressure simulation.
EMI-EMC
Electromagnetic emissions, susceptibility, and electrostatic discharge.
Climatics
Temperature, humidity, altitude, solar, rain, salt fog, and immersion.
Acoustics
Airborne, structureborne, and high-intensity noise to 170 dB.
Engineering
Custom fixture design and fabrication with finite element and modal analysis.
Specialty tests
Hydrostatic pressure, explosive decompression, solderability, and more.
Built for qualification
Defense-grade testing, routine for us
The majority of our work supports military and government programs. We test to the standards primes and program offices expect, with instrumentation and reporting to match.
US Navy approved
Approval of our mediumweight and lightweight shock machines for shipboard qualification under MIL-S-901D.

A family-owned testing tradition
NU Labs — formerly Noise Unlimited — began in 1962 generating high-intensity acoustic noise to simulate lift-off and jet-engine conditions, when equipment failure from sonic fatigue was a top priority for aircraft built to fly higher and faster. The 170 dB generation system we built then is still in use today.
In 1990 we expanded into the full range of services we provide now, with the goal of becoming a complete military support testing facility for acoustic noise, shock, vibration, and EMI. We remain family owned and operated, dedicated to the highest quality of service for our military and commercial customers.
